Get the Recipe: Reuben Sandwich


  • 2 slices rye bread
  • 2 tablespoons Thousand Island dressing
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup sauerkraut, drained
  • 1/4 pound corned beef, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons butter, room temperature


  • Place two slices of bread on a cutting board and spread 1 tablespoon Thousand Island dressing over each slice of bread. Top with cheese, sauerkraut, and corned beef. Top with second bread slice.
  • Spread 1 teaspoon of butter evenly over the top slice of bread.
  • Warm a skillet over low heat. Place the sandwich, butter side down, in skillet. Spread remaining butter on the top slice of bread.
  • Cook uncovered for about 8 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown. Flip the sandwich and cook about 8 minutes longer, or until the bottom is golden brown and cheese is melted.
